Other Ways to Support the Show-Me SCIENCE Competition
Judging - Judges are needed for a 2-4 hour shift on either Wednesday 4/15 or Thursday 4/16. Must be degreed in the judging category or have 5 years of experience in that career. If this option is selected, we will send you a link to the judging registration form.
Volunteering - Volunteers are needed before (remote work), during (on-site) and after (some remote, some inventory management). On-site volunteers can choose their desired task (help with data entry, crowd control, setup/tear down, food management, technology, PowerPoint slide creation, etc.)
Donate in-kind help or supplies - Below is a short list of in-kind help that would be greatly appreciated.
Snacks for judges: Grab and go individual portion snacks like granola bars, jerky, cheese sticks, apples, bananas, grapes, small chip/pretzel bags, peanut butter crackers, candy, etc.
Gallons of tea, lemonade
iPads to use for electronic judging and check-in
Office supplies for students to use to set up their project. (Scotch tape, packing tape, duct tape, small and medium sized binder clips, jumbo paper clips, scissors, rulers, tape measure, erasers, pens, markers, copy paper, colored construction paper, colored pencils, black sharpie markers, etc.)
Walkie Talkies - 8 total units - this would save thousands of steps to be able to contact key volunteers without having to enter everyone’s number in each staff’s phone.
Volunteer Photographer to photograph the fair for the two days - and especially the awards ceremony.
PowerPoint slide show creator - We would like to have a slide presentation that lists the names of the awards and winners and what they won displayed after the award is verbally announced. Having someone create this ahead of time so that names/schools can be added would be a real blessing.
