Missouri Champions and Celebrates Student Researchers
The U.S. is experiencing unprecedented challenges to science. At the national level, significant cuts to federal funding for scientific research have led to the shuttering of studies, projects, and labs. Additionally, STEM efforts are at risk due to funding cuts to STEM education programs and the suspension of the government-sponsored Junior Science and Humanities Symposium, a 50+ year-old preeminent national STEM competition for 6th-12th grade students.
Show-Me SCIENCE was created to address these challenges - to champion the importance of year-long, original research projects and ensure that students across Missouri have access to science competitions.
The goal is to build a robust STEM environment in Missouri that supports, elevates, and celebrates student research and establishes Missouri as a leader in cultivating young scientists and STEM professionals.
Your tax-deductible donation will cover expenses for the 2026 Show-Me SCIENCE competition and provide seed funding for future competitions.
Do you love science? Do you want to support kids in Missouri who are doing science research? Show-Me SCIENCE will need significant help and support in many ways, both before and during the competition. Here are some examples of volunteer roles:
Student registration
Assembling student packets
Judge hospitality
Organizing awards
Category monitors
Working at the student hub
Display and safety inspection of projects
Are you a science professional? Do you want to support Missouri students who are looking at science as a future career? Show-Me SCIENCE will need judges for approximately 250 projects, grades 6-12, and we want each project to be seen by a minimum of three judges. Judges must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical field. Judges will be assigned to grade levels and categories based on interest and qualifications.
